“Our time in the States was profitable for both our physical and spiritual well-being.” Bill and Jennifer enjoyed a six-week furlough during September/October, and were able to visit six of their supporting churches, sharing about their ministry and being encouraged by their brothers and sisters in Christ. They count each and every supporter as a blessing, and are extremely thankful for the unending love and support they receive.
While on furlough, Jennifer broke her big toe. Apparently, she has also had an ongoing infection in the same toe, and antibiotics do not seem to be helping. She is trying to stay off of her feet as much as possible, but that is almost impossible now that she is back with the children. Please pray for healing, as this makes even the most menial task more difficult.
When Bill and Jennifer arrived back in Haiti, their truck would not start. A mechanic was able to get it started again, but they spent three days securing dependable transportation. The Campbells hope to purchase a new truck in the spring of 2010, and ask for prayer in this endeavor. Half of the money has been raised, but funds are still needed to see this request realized. You can visit http://haitihomeofhope.org/ to see the progress that has been made financially. There is also an e-mail link if you are interested in donating to the fund. The truck is such a crucial part of their ministry, and the new vehicle will allow them to continue serving in a mighty way.
Bill and Jennifer were pleased with how the orphanage ran in their absence. Pastor Clebert has really stepped up in his leadership role, and his dedication and love for the children is even more evident. The Campbells offer thanks to those who have prayed for him over the years. He has overcome many trials throughout the course of his life, and the Lord’s hand is at work in Pastor Clebert’s life. Praise the Lord!
Many of you have been praying for the boys who were struggling in school, both academically and with their attitudes. The Lord has heard your prayers! Jackenson and Ari have greatly improved their grades and attitudes. Bill and Jennifer knew they were capable of success and are thankful to see this change. Davelous and Simonville’s attitudes have also improved, but they are still struggling academically. Both boys have learning disabilities, and prayer for continued wisdom on how to better help them would be much appreciated.
Shortly after their arrival back at the orphanage, a group from Millersburg Baptist Church came to install a water filtration system. Led by Tim Flint, the group was able to install a system at HHH, as well as at Francois’ orphanage. They also held a mini-Olympics for all the children. Each child received a medal, and learned about the importance of finishing the race well. That evening ended with a bon fire, complete with hot dogs and marshmallows. The Campbells were so grateful for the MBC group, and the amazing things that were accomplished. God continues to bless Haiti Home of Hope in ways more wonderful than we can imagine.
